Thanks for choosing Between The Cheeks for your male waxing needs. To help you get the best results and avoid irritation, here’s everything you need to know about looking after your freshly waxed skin.
Immediate Aftercare – First 24 to 48 Hours
Waxing removes hair from the root, which can leave your skin a little sensitive. That’s totally normal – but a little TLC goes a long way!
Do:
Keep the area clean and dry
Wear loose-fitting clothing to avoid friction
Apply a cool compress if you feel sore or red
Use aloe vera gel, tea tree oil or a recommended post-wax lotion to soothe the skin
Wash hands before touching the waxed area
Don’t:
No hot baths, hot tubs, showers or saunas (stick to lukewarm water)
No exercise or sweating (yes, we’re giving you a free pass to skip the gym!)
No tanning, sunbeds or direct sun exposure
Avoid scratching, touching or rubbing the area
Skip fragranced lotions, sprays or deodorants on the waxed area
In the Days After Waxing (Up to 7 Days)
Your skin should start to feel back to normal after a couple of days. Here’s how to keep it smooth and avoid ingrown hairs:
Exfoliate gently 2–3 days after waxing using a soft mitt or mild scrub. This helps prevent ingrown hairs and keeps the skin soft.
Moisturise daily with an unperfumed lotion to keep the skin hydrated and healthy.
Avoid shaving between waxes – it disrupts the hair cycle and can make your next wax more uncomfortable.
What’s Normal After Waxing?
Redness, small bumps or a tingling feeling – all normal and should settle within 24–48 hours.
Slight itching as hair regrows – exfoliation and moisturising help.
If you’re prone to ingrown hairs, ask us about targeted products to prevent them.
What’s Not Normal?
If you experience any of the following, please contact me or seek medical advice:
Severe swelling, oozing, or pus-filled spots
Rash or irritation that lasts more than 3 days
Fever or signs of infection
How Often Should I Wax?
Most of my clients rebook every 4 to 6 weeks to stay smooth and avoid the discomfort of full regrowth. Regular waxing also weakens the hair over time.
