If you're considering waxing but have some questions or reservations, I've compiled a list of frequently asked questions to help put your mind at ease:

Q: What is waxing?

A: Waxing is a method of hair removal that removes hair from the root using warm wax.

Q: How long do results last?

A: Typically 3–6 weeks depending on your hair growth cycle.

Q: Is waxing suitable for everyone?

A: Most people can be waxed, but certain medical conditions or medications may be a contraindications. If you're unsure, message me before booking.

Q: I'm not slim and/or young, can I still be waxed?

A: Everyone gets a warm welcome at Between The Cheeks regardless of age, body type, sexual orientation.


Before Your Appointment

Q: How long should my hair be?

A: At least 0.5cm long – about the length of a grain of rice.

Q: Should I shower first?

A: Yes, please arrive clean and freshly showered.

Q: Can I trim before my appointment?

A: No need – I’ll trim for you if necessary.


During Your Appointment

Q: Will it hurt?

A: It can be uncomfortable, but most clients will say it's manageable.

Q: Will I have to be naked?

A: Only the area being waxed will be exposed. You’ll be covered where possible, and your comfort is always my priority.


Aftercare

Q: What should I expect after waxing?

A: Some redness or sensitivity is normal for 24–48 hours.

Q: How do I avoid ingrown hairs?

A: Exfoliate regularly and moisturise daily. Avoid tight clothing and sweating immediately after waxing.

Q: When should I book my next appointment?

A: Every 4–6 weeks is ideal for best results.


Intimate Waxing

Q: Do you wax all intimate areas?

A: Yes – everything from a back, sack & crack to full Brazilian or Hollywood.

Q: Is this service LGBTQ+ friendly?

A: Absolutely – all men welcome, regardless of sexuality or identity.

Q: Can I talk during the appointment?

A: Of course. Chat if it helps you relax, or stay quiet if you prefer – I’ll follow your lead.


Health & Safety

Q: What if I’m on medication?

A: Some medications can make the skin more sensitive so please disclose any medications beforehand.

Q: How hygienic is the service?

A: I follow strict hygiene standards: gloves, disposable spatulas, clean treatment area for every client.

Q: Can I be waxed if I have a skin condition?
